Fantastic Predictions AND the Dangers of Motorhead Madness ...
Week 04: January & 22 - January & 28, 2024
Welcome Show Junkies
What the hell is Motorhead Madness?
Is it dangerous, how’s it transmitted and where did it originate?
Don’t worry, Motorhead Madness is not a germ, virus or disease (clinically speaking).
Motorhead Madness is not a medical condition at all.
Motorhead Madness is a car show held in Duluth in March and best of all it’s indoors.
They’d have to be mad-as-a-hatter to hold it outdoors this time of year.
Check out the “Save the Date” section for more details and don’t forget to add it to your calendar.
Now that we’ve got that cleared up lets dive into the feature article this week.
This week we delve into the future.
And, what better way to predict the future than to peer into the crystal ball of a wily expert in the classic car realm.
To be clear the article is published on the Hagerty website and the author is John Wiley (no relation to “Wile E Coyote”).
While the predictions are what I would classify as “Safe” for a journalist. They are slightly interesting and debatable.
To be fair several other “experts” shared similar predictions for 2024.
But, safe isn’t fun or interesting so … Let’s get shaky …
I’m gonna make a prediction and it’s a bit more debatable maybe even outlandish than those other wile-e experts.
Hold onto your hat …
I predict the kit cars of the 1970’s will gain popularity and value.
Cars the likes of the Bradley GT, Sterling and Laser 917.
Some of which are pictured in the Top 10 Vintage Kit Car article on Fiberclassics.org.
And just why do I feel kit cars are poised for a surge in popularity?
Well, when I see the growth of small cars along with electric cars I feel the simplicity of an air cooled, fuel efficient and unique cars are a good combination to stimulate interest.
Combine that with the popularity of “barn finds” (which is where many of these distinctive kit cars ended up).
Along with the desire and drive to find a rare “diamond in the rough” along with the potential for profit.
Well, that’s a perfect combination for a new trend and explosive growth.
Only time will tell and I welcome your predictions so please share in the comments section.
Until next week … Thanks for Joining the Show Junkies!
