February 2025 | Week 5 - Week 9 | 1 Car Show | 1 Swap Meet | PokeyTire Ice Drags ...
Just 10 more weeks before Mid April and the Minnesota car show season kicks into gear. Until then we have hard water activities which translates to motorized machines with skis that go fast...
Welcome Show Junkies
Looking back at the 2024 show season I noticed the shows began just after the taxman’s deadline.
Maybe it’s the warming weather or just coincidence.
Either or both leads to April kicking off the unofficial start to Minnesotas car show season.
That leaves just 2.5 months or 10 weeks to go.
Just 10 weeks to drop in a fresh motor, maybe a rock crusher and fresh rubber for the 2025 show season.
And if that ain’t enough incentive the weather just shifted into “SpringTime” mode with 40s and maybe even a 50 degree day to kick off February… SWEEEEEEET!
You may recall that back in January Twin Cites Harley Davidson hosted a swap meet.
The January newsletter I shared some photos and links to Harley powered rods.
I may have even suggested that there must be one in Minnesota...
And considering that the BTT50’s show is possibly the 2nd or 3rd largest gathering in the United States it should come as no surprise that we have an owner among us.
You eagle eyed readers may have noticed the wickedly cool cover photo.
That’s one attention grabbing, jaw dropping, mouth watering sweet ride.
I honestly can’t imagine a better chassis body combination for that sun glaring reflective chrome covered twin motor.
Ok, I love it, want it and after obsessing over the details decided there’s gotta be a few more readers that want demand more details.
So here you go..
All steel Brookville body.
124” S&S, 140 HP, 140 lb torque. 2004 B engine prior to mod. Ridged mount. Dry sump/1.5 gal oil res with shell & tube cooler.
50mm Fuel inj. Thundermax IGN.
Basonni exhaust.
Baker Primary-King Kong Clutch
Baker 5 speed w/reverse
Tandler Right angle box with 1310 DL.
Winter Quick Change Rear.
NFA Engineering shifter package with cruse.
As Tim the Toolman Taylor would grunt …. ARGH, ARGH, ARGH!
But wait … there’s more …
Uncle raced Sprint cars with Flat heads. Some of his IMCA placards and Gypsy Tour badges from the 1930’s are on the car. Steering wheel from his car. All controls are from 04 Springer, speedo/tach, bar controls for lights, ignition, horn. Lights and blinkers from HD.
That’s one sweet ride!
A big thank you to our fellow subscriber Tom for sharing. (your show junkies t-shirt has been ordered and will be shipping soon)
P.S. To my DSW (Dear Sweet Wife) … When you’re searching for gift ideas … well just see above… maybe start with floor mats and I will take it from there…
Wow, that car really stoked the fire and passion for this great hobby.
Anywho, with the lack of car shows this month I’ve included a couple of snowmobile shows because, well they burn fuel and go fast.
And come to think of it … wonder what a snowmobile engine powered hot rod would look like…
Show Submissions
Wondering how to ensure all your hard work locating space for your show, coordinating the details of when, where and finding volunteers to help get’s noticed?
You are in luck because now there’s an incredibly simple, quick and painless way to submit your show for inclusion in the Show Junkies newsletter.
A simple multiple choice form is available on the website for entering show details.
Could it be any simpler…
Well yes…
Below is a button that takes just 1 easy click to open the form for you.
Now adding a show is easier than hot wiring a Vista Cruiser, inside a dark garage, without waking anyone… (hint: start by turning off the radio).
Just click and type cause it’s that simple.
That’s it for now…
Until next month stay warm and Thanks for joining the Show Junkies!
