Time to get spicy and include a likely reason many of us got involved in this hobby.
The thunderous rumble of hot V8, the curves of a beautiful machine, the freedom of the open road and the attention of a pretty girl.
It’s an addictive hobby that quickly turns strangers into friends, hours into years and money into chrome.
As the show season kicks off I decided a little incentive may be helpful for newcomers to the hoppy.
I’ll start with a relatively new appearance at the shows … pinup girls and pinup contests.
You know, just in case the classic cars weren’t enough reason to go.
Inconceivable!
And kudos to these brave gals for showing up, enjoying themselves and promoting the pride of looking good.
For them it’s an opportunity to forget about the daily stress and experience the thrills of the past.
On top of that some events have invested in broadcasting vintage music during the show.
The atmosphere at these shows really does heighten the experience.
I can’t think of a better way to spend a few hours outdoors enjoying the sights and meeting new people than that of a classic car show.
And another sign of fast approaching summer season are the Cruze-in shows are publishing their schedules.
The weather forecast for this week is exceptional and the cars are coming out of storage early.
This year will likely go into the history books as Minnesotas earliest show season and after the pandemic shutdowns I am ready for a long summer show season.

The show features over 750 cars. All makes and models of show vehicles 2000 & older plus any year Buick are welcome. Over 500 swappers and commercial vendors will also be on hand.
