Welcome Show Junkies
Thank you for subscribing and opening the newsletter especially during these late weeks of 2023 when the threat of snow is looming.
On a positive note it’s a short work week!
I finally had some success locating an interesting and active Facebook group that really stirred up some nostalgia … particularly when I seen a photo of my first muscle car a 1970’s Camaro SS and it’s the same color! Seriously this Facebook group is worth a look and may give you something to talk about during Thanksgiving with the family.
Many thanks and Happy Thanksgiving …. The Show Junkies
Jay Leno’s Garage
Many of you will recognize Jay Leno from the Tonight Show from 1992 to 2009. Did you know that Jay has a passion for classic autos and an impressive collection with 181 cars and 160 motorcycles.
Visit Jay Leno's Garage, the Emmy-winning series where Jay Leno gives car reviews, motorcycle reviews, compares cars, and shares his passion and expertise on anything that rolls, explodes, and makes noise. Classic cars, restomods, super cars like the McLaren P1, sports cars like Porsche 918
Jay’s Youtube channel has 954 videos to choose from and with 3.57 million subscribers it’s no surprise that the view count is approaching 1 Billion.
If Youtube isn’t your thing then you may want to visit his Facebook page along with the 1.5 million followers. The page is updated regularly with links to the latest videos.
60’s & 70’s Style Street Machines, Gassers, Hot Rods & Customs
This week we take a step back in time (way back) before the Internet was invented. Back when $2 and a 15 cent stamp got you a printed catalog in the mailbox. These Facebook group members post lots of vintage car photos along with some interesting pieces of nostalgia like printed adds from the 60’s & 70’s. The photos are sometimes fuzzy from being scanned copies of old printed photos but still very cool to see. The photo above is from a member shared post of 90+ adds of the era. This is a private group with frequent activity and active moderators (thank you). New member requests are processed quickly and most members are courteous. Hopefully this group stirs some memories of the good old days.
