Wow, hard to believe 50 years have gone by so fast.
I remember my first “Back to the 50’s” car show I attended around 1980.
Probably because I talked my parents into taking me.
And it was AWESOME!
So many cars and so little time.
That was a few decades ago and the show still goes on for the 50th year.
The show could be considered a right-of-passage for Minnesotans.
And probably for any and every classic car enthusiasts within the 5 state region.
For anyone who hasn’t attended “Back to the 50’s” (BTT50s) I will share a little run down of what to expect.
There are about 10,000 cars pre-registered and likely another 2000+ cars that enter on show weekend.
There are a few vendors at the show, I would estimate 1000+ vendors.
Every conceivable thing a car enthusiast could want, need to gawk in amazement can be found here.
From tires to car lifts, hand tools to power tools and car parts to entire cars you will find it.
And food vendors, you bet (Marthas Cookies is a must visit).
And if that ain’t enough on Sunday the midway area hosts a HUGE swap meet.
Bring cash, a trailer and haggle with the best because these guys don’t want to haul it home.
If you haven’t attended the BTT50s event you NEED to.
Mark your calendar, schedule vacation or fake an injury if you must.
Because you will need all 3 days to cover the grounds.
If there is 1 event that belongs on every car enthusiasts “Bucket List” this is a must.

Location: Minnesota State Fairgrounds St Paul
Minnesota’s largest car show of the season kicks off at 8:00 AM Friday June 21, 2024 and ends on Sunday June 23rd at 3:00 PM. The 2023 weekend had nearly 10,000 preregistered participants and 2000+ volunteers working 4000+ shifts to make the event happen. Participants are encouraged to preregister for the event.

Admission: FREE
Join us on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 1 to 3pm for the WINTER BEATER LOCKDOWN at Wagner’s Drive-In 7000 West Broadway – Brooklyn Park…Drive your Winter Beater or Daily Driver and hang out and catch up with people you haven’t seen all winter…FREE Hot Chocolate..It’ll be a perfect day for Wagner’s awesome Chili or Chicken Wild Rice Soup or try a Chili Dog…Bonfire, games and “Chill” out with friends
